  • To travel safely on Veevo's accessible minibuses, wheelchairs must be compatible with the static tie-down restraint systems used to secure them safely to the vehicle floor.

    Wheelchairs must also be fitted with a headrest to provide appropriate support during braking or a sudden stop. The maximum combined weight of the wheelchair and passenger is 300kg.

    These requirements form part of our assessment of whether a wheelchair can be safely accommodated on our service.

  • Mobility scooters can be accommodated where the combined weight of the scooter and passenger does not exceed the minibus lift's 300kg weight limit.

    The scooter must also be compatible with the vehicle's static tie-down restraint system so that it can be safely secured during the journey. As Veevo operates shared, multi-occupancy services, there must also be sufficient space on board to accommodate the scooter safely alongside other passengers.

  • Yes, provided it can be safely and securely stored for the duration of the journey.

    As our services are shared and multi-occupancy, there must also be sufficient space on board for the mobility aid alongside other passengers and their mobility requirements.

  • Veevo does not normally transport medical equipment as part of our services. Where specific equipment is necessary for a passenger to travel, please let us know in advance so that we can assess whether it can be safely accommodated.

    Veevo cannot accept responsibility for personal medical equipment carried by passengers, including medical oxygen apparatus, colostomy equipment or similar items.

  • Storage space on our vehicles is limited, so passengers cannot normally travel with more than two average-sized shopping bags or their equivalent.

    If you need to bring luggage or additional items, please let us know in advance and we'll confirm whether they can be accommodated.

  • Any valuables or personal belongings brought on board are carried at the passenger's own risk. Veevo cannot accept responsibility for the loss, theft or damage of personal belongings while using the service.

Safe passenger transport

  • Veevo transport services operate in compliance with the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005 and other relevant national and European regulations. This supports our commitment to the safety and wellbeing of both passengers and staff on every journey.

  • No. Smoking and vaping are not permitted under any circumstances on Veevo minibuses. Our vehicles are workplaces for our drivers and Travel Care Assistants and are subject to Ireland's workplace smoking legislation.

  • For the comfort and safety of everyone travelling, eating and drinking are not normally permitted on our minibuses, with the exception of water.

    If you have a specific need that requires you to eat or drink while travelling, please let us know in advance. Where appropriate, an individual arrangement may be agreed.

  • Veevo operates a discretionary 15-minute pick-up window to allow for the practical realities of a shared, multi-stop service.

    Traffic, additional boarding time or an earlier delay can affect subsequent pick-ups. This small degree of flexibility helps our drivers manage those situations while maintaining a reliable and predictable service for everyone travelling.

  • No. Veevo staff do not pass the threshold of a passenger's home and will not enter a passenger's home or go beyond the central reception or hall area at other locations.

    Where a passenger requires assistance that involves someone entering their home, Veevo will contact the appropriate authority so that the necessary support can be arranged. This policy is in place to protect both passengers and staff.

  • Where required, Veevo may carry out a Passenger Travel Assessment to understand an individual's needs and establish their suitability for shared, multi-occupancy transport.

    The assessment helps us ensure that the service can be provided safely and appropriately for the individual while also considering the needs and wellbeing of other passengers travelling on the same route.

  • As a general rule, passengers using powered wheelchairs should not manoeuvre themselves under power on or off the passenger lift platform or inside the vehicle unless they have been formally Cleared Under Power.

    Clearance is granted following a risk assessment completed by the driver and signed off by Veevo management, confirming that the passenger can safely operate their powered wheelchair in these areas.

  • Yes, but children under 12 years of age and less than 135cm tall must be correctly secured in an appropriate car seat or wheelchair while travelling.
